Brow Family and Engagement Shoot

I recently did a studio shoot with an awesome young couple and their handsome little boy.  We did a family shoot as well as some engagement pics for Mom and Dad.  Adorable Halloween costumes were also involved as well as a few shots with his equally adorable cousin in a complete Lobster costume!!  SO COOL!  It was also a 1 year shoot for their little guy as well.  I've been wanting to do a birthday themed shoot for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity!  I have decided to offer a package deal where I charge one fee and you get up to 2 hours of birthday party coverage as well as a special birthday photo session in my studio for the birthday boy or girl.  How great would it be to not have to worry about taking pictures at your child's bday party so that you can actually focus on your kid and running the party?!?  Stay tuned for more details on this awesome package in the future!  So why should people come to me for their birthday pictures (or any other pictures for that matter)?  How am I different from Sears, JcPenney, and Walmart studios?  Well aside from the fact that they would never allow a kid to dig into a birthday cake in the middle of their studio...here is another very good example.  This family came in on their scheduled day and we shot the majority of the pictures during their scheduled session time.  Just before we had planned to do the birthday cake pictures, the little guy takes a face plant right to the floor =( OUCH!   There was no way we'd be able to continue.  Not a big deal, I suggested she come back the next day when he wasn't screaming and we'd do it then.  There was no rush...no pressure...and no extra charge for the second day of shooting.  I realize that life happens and sometimes you just can't control a cranky kid that won't smile at all or casualties of war.  Mom was concerned about the big fat lip in the pictures the next day.  No worries where that is concerned, because I can just edit it right out of the pictures, not to mention the fact that the cake and frosting covered it up very nicely!! ;)  The next day went very well and smoothly.  Mom and son were much more relaxed and happy, and I got some really fun shots.  Had this kind of thing happened at one of those other studios...they would have had to spend a lot of money just in gas going back and forth! Not to mention they may or may not have had an opening even available for the next day!  I try my very hardest to make my studio a relaxed and comfortable environment for kids and even adults for that matter.  Kids are so perceptive and pick up on every little emotion...and the biggest thing that they pick up on is a parent's frustration.  Here is a "sneak peek" of some of my favorite shots from the two days =)  I want to send a big thank you out to this family for a wonderful shoot...I truly had a blast with you guys and I hope to see you again in the future!
