Windjammer Parade - Rockland, Maine

This past Friday was the beautiful Windjammer Parade in Rockland Harbor.  My youngest son, Matthew and I ventured down to the breakwater to check it out and get some pictures.  Apparently everyone in Rockland had the same great idea because the Samoset Road was packed to the end with parked cars.  One of the benefits of living locally...I knew where to park so we didn't have to walk a mile to the breakwater!  Due to time restraints...we couldn't walk the full length...but we did get out about a quarter of the way and I slapped on my 70-300mm lens and was able to get some amazing shots of the beautiful grand schooners regardless =)  I was reminded of just how beautiful we have it here in Maine.  The ocean calms me and my soul is at peace.  Here are the shots I took from the day...I hope you enjoy them.  Next year I will plan more time for close-up shots!
