Today I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful young family! Their adorable little girl didn't stay still for long...so it's a good thing my camera is quick ;) A big thank you to her Mom and Dad for doing such a great job of catching her and putting her back in front of the camera. I am sure they had to go home and have a nap after the shoot! I was glad to finally get this family into my studio. This was third attempt to meet due to snow storms! As always I had a hard time picking my favorite shots from today's shoot...so here is a taste of my favorites =) Enjoy!

Cooper Baby Studio Shoot - Rockland, Maine
Today I did a shoot in the studio with my newest 6 week old baby cousin! Such a cutie pie and I was able to get so many good shots that I had trouble deciding which ones to post as my favs =D I did his Mom's maternity shoot only just a few months ago...time flies!! Such a good baby for all the outfit changes...props and posing. I got to use the red background today and I really like the way the red pops. Looking forward to doing their family pictures in the near future. Here are 10 of my favs from today's shoot!

Alyssa's 8th Birthday Party at Cody's Roadhouse Restaurant - Rockport, Maine
Today my youngest son, Matthew was invited to his "girlfriend's" 8th birthday party at Cody's Roadhouse Restaurant in Rockport, Maine. I LOVE photographing children's birthday parties and I am starting to realize that I pretty much just love photographing children in general!! I love the expressions, the excitement, the wild, crazy, silly willy behavior =) Kids rock. I just loved the setting for the party...great light and Cody's has just a great "feel" in general with all the great decor placed all around the restaurant. I love the great sound of the empty peanut shells crunching under your feet as you walk across the floor! The kids had an amzing time with plenty of arcade games and prize machines. There was even pin the tail on the donkey...which was a riot to watch! Definitely a very memorable party for Matthew and I am sure for the birthday girl as well. Here are some of my favorite shots from the party. So spread the word!! I am available to shoot birthday parties too if people want it! Parents already have so much to worry about without having to worry about getting good shots of the birthday girl, guests, presents, etc...Will give discounts for a piece of the cake!! hahaha =D

Creamer Kids Studio Shoot - Rockland, Maine
Today I did a shoot in the studio with the two most adorable little sisters I've ever met! Big sister was so cute with her little baby sister =) Their Mom commented about how relaxed my studio was compared to the tense environment she is used to at Walmart and Sears. I definitely strive for that because I remember those many stressfull and frustrating visits myself when my kids were young. I remember specifically a time when we drove all the way to Augusta to have the boy's pictures done at Sears. After sitting and waiting for a half hour for our turn...the lady who was taking their pictures was cranky and not very "kid friendly." My youngest was not cooperating and she did nothing to try and turn things around. We ended up leaving and coming back the next day. We had someone completely different and thankfully she knew what she was doing and very easily got the kids to cooperate. I've been there and I understand parents frustrations. I realized today that I may not have a ton of patience with my own children...but I definitely have plenty when it comes to other children. I also realized that the easiest way to get kids to warm up to you is to play with them. Today...I sat down on the floor and played dinosaurs to "break the ice." To a little kid...the studio can sometimes be a scary place. All those bright lights like at the doctor and dentist's office. I don't want to be put in that catagory in a child's mind...so if it means getting down on the floor and playing with them for a bit to relax them...then I'll do whatever it takes! Here are a few of my favorites from today!
