Apples! Apples! Apples!

Things have been INSANELY busy since my D-Card advertising E Stanley Photography mailing went out last Friday.  I got my first call from the mailing the day they arrived in peoples mailbox!!! WHOO HOOO!!  The company that sent it out said that is definitely a rarity! =)  Booked that session for Saturday (my very first studio session with my new studio lighting equipment)...went apple picking with the family...and met with a bride to discuss her wedding I am shooting this weekend.  Honestly...I couldn't be happier that I am busy busy.  I go nuts when I'm not!  My business cards arrived tonight and they are AWESOME!  Ben did an AMAZING job on the design.  Got a call today to shoot another Senior Portrait shoot!  The next 2 weekends are booked with weddings and the weekend after that is a maternity shoot!

So apple picking at Hope Orchards in Hope, Maine was a BLAST! as usual.  The kids had some fun with the apples and then when they got tired of them they found some hay that was fun to toss around...and made for some great pictures.  Here are a few of my favorites from that day! =)

"Beyond the Hammock"

Iving Ball said it best..." the past should be a springboard not a hammock."

Today...an old friend's blog reminded me of just how far I have come in such a short amount of time with my business. After all, I just began E Stanley Photography in mid-June. I tend to so intensely focus on the past as well as my goals and the future, that I forget to stop and smell the roses along the way and truly appreciate what I have accomplished. I have tacked up a sticky note above my computer with these wise words from my friends blog to help remind me on a daily basis...
"YOU WILL REACH YOUR GOAL WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT." I just need to keep following my heart's true desire and everything will fall into place in due time.

This was taken down in Owls Head...just an amazing and peaceful view that I wanted to share. Taking the time to stop and smell the roses ;)

Aaron - Senior Portrait Preview

Yesterday afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing Aaron's Senior Portraits. The weather was beautiful and such a wonderful breeze. Aaron was a trooper...but definitely a challenge to get to smile! A big thank you to his Mom for being there to help in that department. He likes to be serious but his smiles really show the fun side of him. I have known Aaron for quite a few years now and he has turned into a wonderful young man. Here are a couple of my favorites from the shoot.

pink sky at night...sailor's delight!

As a kid my Mom always had these sayings for weather predictions. I am sure many of you have heard this one before as they have been around for many many years. She always said if there was a "Pink sky at night...sailor's delight." It meant that the next day would be beautiful and sunny and perfect sailing weather. Right on the nose with that today! I don't know if anyone happened to catch last night's sunset...but I did...and ON CAMERA!! absolutely BEAUTIFUL colors =) Another one of those awe inspiring moments with my camera that just makes my heart all a flutter! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job!?!

"beauty awakens the soul to act" --Dante (Alighieri)

So much has been happening so fast with my business! I am excited, happy, overwhelmed...all in the same token. I honestly could not be more pleased and happy! I wake up in the morning excited to greet the day and all that it holds. Today's title really sums up how I feel about photography and capturing beautiful moments. It reflects how a certain glance or intensity in the eyes or the way the light bounces across someone's face just causes my soul to literally jump with excitement! Then the shutter clicks and I have caught that special moment to hold it forever. I am finding that with the more shoots I do the harder it is to pick my favs! So here a 3 more of my favs from the beautiful Liz Marie's modeling portfolio shoot.

Sierra aka Tinkerbell

Sierra was a pleasure to shoot! She's just full of life and beaming with fun! She did this creepy eye-rollback thing. She'd do it and then laugh hysterically after. I got quite a few shots of her doing it and managed to get this one shot of her smiling normally. I remember being that age so clearly...just like it was yesterday.

I have to admit I am having a ton of fun editing these pictures =) I'm probably spending more time then I should be on each one...but I just can't help myself! hehehe. So anyways...here is another one of my fav's. I just love sepia and how romantic it looks!
