Today I had the pleasure of photographing an amazing couple who my camera just loved =) There were so many wonderful shots that it was hard for me to choose! I decided to do some editing with this particular shot as it was one of my favs. (make sure to click on the image to see the full size view)

I am SO excited at the direction my business is headed =) After little sleep last night and a tiny bit of frustration today my "secret project" is created! If this all goes the way I am envisioning I will have more work then I can possibly handle! WHOOO HOOO! Afterall, I did quit an awesome...well paying job with super health insurance to pursue this dream. Going at it full blast baby!

It astounds me that my oldest son is now 12 and starting 7th grade this year!! I think he's grown a foot over the summer. He's such a handsome young man! Lookout ladies! Here comes Mr Brown eyes! ;)

I really like this effect. I definitely think it draws your eye towards the bride and groom and makes them the focal point...which is important!

I LOVE taking pictures and I think I equally love editing them! Yes...it does require a tad more patience...but it totally nurtures my creative nature. More fun to come soon! =)

PHOTO OF THE DAY - the D300 ROCKS!

So I have finally after months and months of research on all the cameras out there on the market...decided to go with the D300. I FLIPPIN LOVE IT! It takes AMAZING pictures in low light settings WITHOUT a tripod! This will definitely make things so much easier when I am shooting weddings. So happy with my decision and I think having two cameras will be such an added asset to my business as a whole. The top two photos were taken at the Lake today and the bottom one was taken last night after our two mile hike. Have I mentioned how much I love summers in Maine?!?

These are some shots of the of the wicked awesome slip n' slide we made in our backyard for my oldest son's 12th birthday party. The kids had a blast as you can see!

My oldest son is in Boy Scout Troop #200 and has been hard at work (as have all the boys in the troop) all winter long designing and building their own kayaks. After many long months of work they finally were able to launch them! Congrats boys! Keep your eyes out...these two shots should be in the newspaper soon =)

My eyes are completely fried and I do believe I went from 20/20 vision to needing glasses...but I am nearly done with editing Jon and Cheney's Bridal Shower, Rehearsal, and Wedding pictures! I am SO pleased with how well they all came out. They really tell a story and that is totally what I was going for. Wedding pictures, in my opinion, should flow like a well written poem. I have come up with my official description as a photographer. I am a photo journalistic wedding and creative portrait photographer! Sounds nicer to me then saying "I pretty much do anything portrait wise." Anyways...this one today is of course from Jon and Cheney's Wedding. I actually had doing just this in photoshop when I shot this one. I am pleased that I had a vision and I 100% accomplished it. This is the beginning of a great thing! hehehe
On a business encouraging note...I have been approved to place a little display advertising my business in a local salon and I am thinking if Jon and Cheney are okay with it? I might just use this shot for my display!

Sometimes I just love how amazingly beautiful a color photograph can be. Don't get me wrong, I love how awesome black and white and sephia are as well, but the right color can just be so striking. I think Liz's natural beauty also makes this pictures extra strikingly beautiful as well ;)

What a beautiful wedding it was! I thought I would be a ball of nerves taking pictures but I felt so relaxed and really enjoyed every moment of it. Weddings are SOOO much fun to shoot and I look forward to doing many more in the future =) With family visiting this week I am just now getting to editing and I am having so much fun doing that as well! Photoshop Elements totally rocks!
