On Sunday afternoon I did a shoot with a wonderful family in my studio. They wanted to squeeze in a family shoot before their oldest daughter headed back to college and I was happy to accommodate! This time last year through March of 2010 was my "slow season." I assumed that this year would be the same and I am pleased to say that this year has been VERY busy already! I'm very excited for the many possibilities in the upcoming year for E Stanley Photography. Stay tuned for (as my son would put it) an "epic" year! Here are my favorite shots from Sunday's shoot!

Abbott Family Studio Shoot - Rockport, ME
I did a fun shoot with a great family of 13 in my studio! It was definitely a unique challenge to get all 13 people positioned just right, not blinking, looking at me, smiling, kids not fussing. I LOVE a good challenge though =) It's great to see a family come together for a group picture like this. It's always a challenge to do something like this with little ones. Right now is a moment in time that will never ever be the same and it was my pleasure to capture that for them. I appreciate everyone's patience as I know how crazy things can get with kiddos and pictures. Here is my sneak peek!

Bradley Family Studio Shoot - Rockport, ME
I did a studio shoot with an awesome young family yesterday. They were referred to me by another client. Soooo grateful to clients for referrals, as this is how my business thrives! In fact I am so thankful that I am happy to give referring clients 10% off their next shoot for giving me the referral =) I really enjoyed meeting this family. It's great to see a family close with each other and so relaxed that they can smile and really have fun with the shoot. Their mom brought in a picture of all of them together 13 years ago and asked if I could pose them somewhat the same for a few shots. I think I came pretty close to what it was. I do love the posed shots...but I also like the more relaxed poses as well. The floor shots are my fav because they look very natural, comfortable and especially with a big group, everyone can get in nice and close. I loved that they all wanted to put on props for a shot and be silly at the end (TOTALLY their idea)!! Thanks again guys for being such good sports and making it a fun time...I hope you all enjoy the pictures =)

Set the Pace 1-1-11 5K Race - Camden, ME
On New Years Day I got to participate in the 3rd Annual "Set the Pace" 5K race in Camden to raise money for the Little Field Home Orphanage (www.littlefieldhome.org) in Malawi, Africa. If you haven't heard of this organization before, please go to their website and check them out. What they are doing to help the children over there is AWESOME =) There were 150 total runners/walkers from young to old that participated and about $2700 was raised for the orphanage! Way to go everyone! One of the many participants was local Chad Ridge (www.chadridge.com). As his photographer I was there taking pictures of his journey and in the process got some great shots of others as well. I am looking forward to doing the 1/2 Marathon in Nashville, TN in April!! I hope you enjoy the shots from the race =)
